Saṁyata,(& saññata)(pp.of saṁyamati),【形】抑制,自制(克制自己)。saṁyata,【形】抑制心意的。Saṁyatacārī,【形】自制而住的。佛陀對比丘的期許則是︰《法句經》(Dh.v.362)︰「手已完全調禦(saṁyato),腳已完全調禦,及言語已完全調禦,最高的(心)已完全調禦,內在得樂(ajjhattarato)、已定(samāhito)、孤獨(eko)、完全滿足(santusito)名比丘。」
