|Dhammaguttā：1．Dhammaguttā，Dhammaguttikā.-A secondary division of the Mahimsāsakas （Dpv.v.47； Mhv.v.8； Mbv.，p.96），probably an offshoot of the Sabbatthivādins．They had a special Vinaya of their own．According to Tibetan sources （Rockhill，pp.185，192），they were called after their leader，Dharmagupta．Their fundamental doctrines were these：that the Buddha is not comprised in the Sangha； that while there is great reward for offerings made to the Buddha，there is none for offerings to the Sangha； that a life of brahmacariya exists also among the devas； and that there are worldly laws as opposed to spiritual.
