巴利語匯解&巴利新音譯 瑪欣德尊者
devatā:諸天。為輪回流轉中的善趣之一。其果報比人類殊勝,他們壽命長久,身體清凈光明,能飛行虛空,變化自在,常享勝妙快樂。如義註說:“通過五欲功德以及各自的威力消遣故為天。”(Pañcahi kāmaguṇehi attano attano ānubhāvehi ca dibbantīti devā.) (M.A.1.153)
在經典中,諸天通常指“六欲天”,即六種欲界的諸天眾。他們由下向上依次為:
1.四大王天(Cātummahārājika,為守護四方的四大王天及其眷屬所居);
2.三十三天(Tāvatiṃsa,古音譯忉利天。此天之主稱沙咖天帝);
3.亞馬天(Yāma,古音譯夜摩天、焰摩天);
4.都西答天(Tusita,古音譯兜率天、睹史多天);
5.化樂天(Nimmānarati,又稱樂變化天);
6.他化自在天(Paranimmitavasavatti,魔天即屬於此天)。
有時,諸天也包括比六欲天更高級的色界、無色界梵天,以及一些較低級的地居天、空居天等。
通過積累布施、持戒等福德善業,命終之後可投生到天界。成就禪那者死後則可投生到梵天界。

Devatā,【陰】天人,女天人。sā devatā﹐彼男天人,彼女天人。天人是指從四天王天(Catumahārāja)以上至色究竟天(Akaniṭṭha)的二十四層天。其中有欲界六天即︰四天王天,忉利天,夜摩天,兜率天,化樂天,他化樂天。色界十八天即︰梵身天,梵輔天,大梵天;少光天,無量光天,光音天;少凈天,無量凈天,遍凈天;少福天,福生天,廣果天,和五阿那含天(無煩天,無熱天,善現天,善見天,色究竟天)及無想天。無色界四天,也是屬於天人,但在經典中不見他們與人間往來。

Devatā,(f.)
